CLUNIE

Clunie had an advantage the other two never got: everything we’d already learned along the way. She’s our newest cabin, arriving in December 2025. South facing like the others, but built with a few upgrades in mind. There’s a solar powered outdoor hot tub ready the moment you arrive, no generator noise at all, no waiting around. A few of those upgrades you won’t notice until you’re actually staying. Clunie sits at the furthest point from Ericht’s gable end, tucked away with her own privacy.

This time round we brought in an interior designer, and it shows. The result is warm, considered and individual from the other two cabins. Isla and Ericht both got a refresh in the process. Despite all being created at different times, all three still feel like one family rather than three separate projects. There’s a super king bed and the same arched ceiling as the others. Together they make the space feel bigger than the floor plan suggests.

The kitchen comes with a coffee machine and cafetiere, plus all that you would need to cook something special during your stay. The private en suite shower has a heated towel rail, and we have towels, robes and slippers ready for the outdoor hot tub. Outside there’s a fire pit with firewood and kindling in the log store, ready for you to build your own fire in the evening. Order afternoon tea or other extras ahead of your stay if you want it ready the moment you arrive.

We brought in an interior designer for Clunie this time round, and you can tell. It’s warm, and it’s completely its own. While we were at it, we gave Isla and Ericht a refresh too, so all three cabins have their own character but still feel like part of the same family.

Views don’t change much between cabins: open countryside, the Sidlaw Hills, whatever the sky’s doing that night. Clunie’s neighbours are the same sheep, pigs and turkeys. 

Being the newest was never going to mean being the plainest. If anything, Clunie is where five years of running this place shows we’re doing it right.
