ISLA

Every cabin we’ve built since has had to live up to Isla. She was the first, back in the summer of 2021, and she set the tone for everything that came after. South facing, so the light gets the first look in every morning and doesn’t let up until the last thing at night. We built a big window specifically to make the most of that. The fields and the Sidlaw Hills do the rest of the work.

Step inside and the arched ceiling is the first thing you notice. The room feels bigger than the outside gives away. Isla ended up with a king size that guests love. A four seater sofa gives you somewhere to properly relax and sprawl out. We’ve got cooking well covered too: a dishwasher, a coffee machine and a cafetiere for anyone who likes their coffee slow. There’s enough kitchen cooking equipment for whatever you fancy making. When you’re ready to face the day, you have a private en suite shower and heated towel rail. But if you prefer somebody else to do the cooking, Blairgowrie is two and a half miles up the road. Our recommendations are in the Guide Information folder.

Outside, the hot tub sits behind its own privacy screening at the far end of the cabin. The opposite end from Ericht. Marshmallows and roasting forks are in the kitchen. Logs and kindling are waiting by the fire pit. Robes and slippers are ready for you to plunge into the hot tub as soon as you get here. There’s a Smart TV too, one you can watch from the sofa or, more likely, from bed. On a clear night, the stars here are cracking because we have no light pollution for miles.
